Today, I’m sharing with you my favorite thing (in my opinion, the one thing) that you need if you’re looking to uplevel your life, your business, or any area of your life. Spoiler alert: it’s all about the people that you surround yourself with. Don’t miss my tips for finding the supportive community you need, as well as why it’s so imperative that you find one.

The biggest gamechanger for me in the last couple years, both in terms of my life and in terms of my business, has been the people that I surround myself with. When we think about the basis for most friendships, if you're anything like me, those relationships were probably formed at school or at work. Because those are the things that we have in common, it is easy for the habit to form of talking about those things, and more often than not that means talking negatively or complaining. I'm definitely guilty of this! Whether that was going out after work with my fellow...
One of my favorite mindset tools to use in a time of transition, stress, or really any time in my life is affirmations. Using positive statements to reinforce a desired belief or behavior is incredibly powerful, and today, I'll be sharing a few of my favorites. These are affirmations that are especially helpful if you’re in a time of transformation.
To start with, know that you can always write your own affirmations. In fact, these may be even more powerful than one that you find that someone else has written. To do this, first think about how you'd like to feel. Write down some notes about that, making sure the language is positive, and stating it in the present tense. For example, I want to feel at peace and free of stress — well, "stress" is negative, so I don't want to focus on that...Let's say, "I feel peaceful in all circumstances" or "I can always choose peace." Sometimes adding "I choose/am choosing to believe" in front of an affirmation helps make...
Do you know that feeling where suddenly you aren't sure if you're in the right career, the right relationship, the right life, or all of those things at once? Doubt loves to creep up on us when we're feeling secure, and if you're anything like me, your knee jerk reaction is probably to talk yourself out of it as quickly as you can. Today, I'll share a new way of looking at doubt, the gifts that it brings, and the power of embracing it.
When I was younger and a member of a faith community, I remember struggling a lot with doubt. Some small (or large) doubt would come up, I would feel insecure, and I would grasp onto the first warm, fuzzy feeling -- or a simple "truth" that sounded good -- I could to chase it away. I never let myself examine my doubts more closely, and I honestly thought that they were a reflection of a lack of faith. I know now how wrong this is — it's not that people who have faith or are sure of...
When you're trying to achieve a new goal or become a different, better version of yourself, it can be challenging to create the kind of momentum that you need to actually achieve it. Today, we'll talk about embodying your future self today — why it works, as well as practices to help you do it.
First off, it's worth asking why we bother focus on embodying your future self rather than taking a different approach to achieving a goal. Let's look at the alternative, which is staying the same version of you and trying to keep up with tracking all of the new habits that this "better" version of you has. Maybe that's exercise, journaling, meditation, checking in with loved ones, or any other desired behaviors. If you stay the same version of yourself, then that's just a lot of work and a lot to track. Envisioning yourself as someone who just naturally does these things — and then accepting that you already are that person — is the way to speed up the...
Now is the time when many people start thinking about setting new goals, establishing new habits, or trying out a different, healthier lifestyle. If you’ve ever made a goal (or a New Year’s resolution) only to have it all fall apart a few days later, you aren’t alone. Here, I’m sharing my three favorite tips for actually crushing that goal you set.
If you're feeling ambitious, it's likely that you're also feeling prone to overdo it with the number of goals that you set. I've certainly been guilty of this, and I've seen myself fail quickly in the times that I thought crushing five goals at once was the way to go. You might have a health goal, a financial goal, a relationship goal, a reading goal, and any number of other goals -- that's great! Especially if you are focused on habit-based goals and you intend to track your progress, my advice is to start with just one. Choose the goal that is most important to you -- the keystone goal, if you...
The idea of intuition can be elusive and mysterious – how do we tune in to it? Is that even something that little old me can do, or is it only for people with a “special” gift? Today, I’ll be sharing a few of my favorite ways that any of us can tune in to our intuitions in just 10 minutes.
Before we dive into the different practices, we need to suspend whatever disbelief we have about the different ways that we can "know" things. For many of us, and certainly in Western culture, the idea of knowing something can only be connected with having a head-based understanding of it. In order for our intuition to be more accessible to us, we may need to allow for other kinds of intelligences to exist, whether that means feeling or a gut-level understanding. There are a number of nerve connections between our hearts and our brains for example, with scientific evidence showing that a far greater number of messages are sent from...
Sometimes, you know it’s time for a change…and yet, you hang on too long to what’s familiar out of fear of the unknown, fear of judgment, and a whole host of other reasons. When it was time for me to make a significant pivot in my business, it took me longer than I would have liked to realize it and actually make the change. Here, I’m sharing the five reasons I held on too long, in hopes that if you see yourself here, you’ll be inspired to take action sooner than I was.
The first barrier to making the changes I needed to make in my business was none other than my ego. My previous business looked great and professional from the outside, and it definitely felt good to look like I had my act together. I'd written books, organized virtual retreats, and felt that I was starting to get the recognition that I'd wanted in my field. The idea of "throwing that all away" to start over again felt overwhelming, and not in a good way. How would it even feel...
If you’re reading, watching, or listening to this, then there’s a good chance that you’re looking for confirmation that what you’ve been experiencing lately is actually your intuition trying to get your attention. When we first start listening to our intuition, it can feel intimidating to know if we’re doing it right – how can I distinguish between my intuition and other feelings and expectations in my life? I’ll be sharing a few signs and indicators that help you know if it is, in fact, your intuition tugging on your sleeve.
For starters, are you having a nagging thought or feeling? This might be a thought that keeps coming back, even when you don't want it to. Maybe you keep thinking about a job posting that you saw or you keep wondering about a new business venture when you should be busy doing other things.
This might also be a nagging feeling. For me, when I have a doubt about something or I'm out of alignment, I...
